Objects of Place

This series of paintings arose during the pandemic as I found myself, like many of us, staying close to home. I entered a deeper, quieter engagement with the land, the changing light, rain and drought, and life cycles. Small objects that I found on my wanderings, seedpods, dried leaves, bones, even an entire dead agave, found their way to my studio, worthy of this new attention. These paintings connected me with an expanded community of life.
