During the nearly twenty years I spent as a practicing architect, I drew a lot of straight lines and managed to learn something about materials by observing unassuming craftspeople transform common materials into functional beauty. As time went by, I found myself involved in building along with design. When I dropped the functional part, it was a short leap of faith to making sculpture. My wood and stone sculptures explore playful connections, the expression of dynamic forces, as well as the astounding beauty revealed in natural materials.
